The Goshen Elm

The Goshen Elm in Gaithersburg is thought to be the largest of its species, and has been saved from encroaching development and road expansion by a group of dedicated volunteers.

The tree came over from England before the Revolutionary War, and has seen its home go from a quiet farmland to a bustling suburb of Washington, DC. It's future in America secured, clippings have been taken from the Goshen Elm to send back to England.
